There Might Be Cupcakes: Reason No. 2

If you over-decadent (totally making that into a verb) a cake, you either get really strange looks, or you thrust the cake’s cost into the stratosphere. Or both. And no one wants a piece of super-expensive side-eye cake–that’s too unnerving to be fun. But cupcakes are expected to be over the top, and can be easily! Sprinkles, little candies, candles, sparklers, chocolate kisses…try putting chocolate kisses on a cake. That cake will look embarrassed. No, really. Try it. I’ll wait. Now grab a cupcake from the grocery store’s bakery, add a pinch of sprinkles and one chocolate kiss, and slide it onto your coworker’s desk. Instant smiles. Cupcakes are less assuming, less fancy pants, and less concerned about What People Think.
