“Six straight hours of horror movies. Little Lindsay Wallace won’t know what hit her.”
Watching my collector’s edition of Halloween 🎃 for the first time—upgrade from my 25 year old DVD set with the TV edition included. I, as always, shouted the line “He was doing very well LAST NIGHT!”—it’s tradition. Startled the dogs. Everyone’s entitled to one good scare. 😏
Since my wall paneling adds to the 70’s feel, I added a twilight filter and a little grunge to enhance it.
This was my first horror movie—I was ten, staying home alone for the first time. I toasted marshmallows and roasted a hot dog under the stove broiler in our open-format kitchen while turned sideways, watching it on 📼 VHS on our fake-wood cabinet TV, and I was enthralled.
Play “Where’s Waldo” with my mermaid skeleton, my Wheelchair Barbie mascot dressed up for Halloween (better pics to come), my Laurie and Michael figurines, my initial pumpkin, and my Lament Configuration puzzle box. Yes, my home office always looks like this.
Check the last pic for Debra Hill. 🧡
Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain. Have fun and be safe, and listen to your *responsible* babysitter. If she knits, she’s got you.
True story: what happened to Annie informed my future babysitting and nannying. I also took an extra outfit with me, and it paid off. Not only were there many accidents and baby and toddler spitups on me, but a couple of kids messed up my clothes on purpose. Thanks, Annie Brackett, for not making me ride the subway or drive home in a shawl and clogs. 😁
❣️As a lifetime Good Girl, and as a CPTSD survivor, Laurie Strode means the world to me.
This is a really cool horror watching den!
