I found a photograph of myself I never realized even existed! I was playing around on Classmates, and was paging through a yearbook I own, for crying out loud. I was waiting for pain medication to kick in, and sometimes the most mundane activity is the best in those times. Near the back of the yearbook, right before the index starts, there’s an unlabeled photo of a girl at her locker used to illustrate the year. That’s me! Took me 35 years to realize this. 🤦🏻♀️
That’s my unconscious ballet pose (13 years of classes), my shaggy fisherman knit sweater (it was lavender), my extremely chunky shoes, and my baggy jeans. The kicker: my legwarmers.
That locker was right outside Mr. Curtis’ World History class. The door was just out of sight to the left.
I love this so much. My dad was also highlighted in his yearbook, but much more prominently. But this is still a cool link. Dad was chosen to pose in the front stairwell for the frontispiece of his senior yearbook. He started his last year, I ended my first.
I need to find my copy so I can create a much better scan, without this odd green tone, and so you can see my face. If I were a 35 year old yearbook, where would I be hiding in the basement?
