Movie Review: The Lost Boys (1987)
Letterboxd link: 5 stars, of course
Saw this on the big screen for the first time since it came out—then I was 15, Sam’s now I am the age of his mom, Lucy.
But no! My friend that accompanied me looked up Dianne Wiest’s age at the time of filming: 39. I am ten years older. Time is a stranger fluid thing.
I love this movie like it’s a friend of mine, Jami Gertz is an underrated treasure of the 80’s, and that house really gets creepier every time I watch this–look in the nooks and crannies.
Also, my dad actually owns the 45 of “I’m A Lonely Boy” by Clarence “Frogman” Henry (lyrics). It played on his jukebox a lot. He collects one-hit wonders, so it delighted me to go to the movies and hear it as a kid.
