Shedding tears for your pain. I love you

I didn’t mean to make you cry. I love you, too.

How could I not have known this at the time 😢

Because I was sneaky, and mostly away at college. Don’t start feeling guilty. It’s not your fault, it’s all mine.

Also, when you see someone every day, you don’t often notice changes in weight, things like that. Do that explains high school. You’re a good mom. ♥️

This was really open and moving, a very good piece. Thank you for making yourself vulnerable so others can benefit from your experiences!

Thank you so much! I worried about putting people off. I’m glad I found a good balance between details and caution.

It's an excellent balance, and one I try to strike myself. I think you nailed it!

This made my day. Thank you. It’s hard to make sure you aren’t trauma dumping; I don’t ever want someone to read my work or listen to my podcast and think I am attention-seeking.

Nah, this was way deeper. I think the key is that you're providing legit value, not just doing this for you. That makes all the difference! You want your readers to be better informed, and in sharing some of the experience with you (through your writing lens), they got to come along for some of the horrible stuff. But that's the stuff that made you, you! I look back on a lot of mistakes, and things I've suffered through, and wouldn't change a thing from my past. I can share that info/experience with folks when I need to (and when I have the courage to do so!).
